Scottish Centre for Telehealth and Telecare

Teleneurology

The teleneurology service model of care for patients will continue to be expanded to provide access to specialist neurological services.

neuroThe aims are:

  • To provide out-patient appointments closer to where patients live (closer to home).
  • To improve access to specialist neurology services.
  • To reduce patient travel.
  • To improve patient self management of neurological conditions.
  • To help reduce the carbon footprint.

Teleneurology Clinics – Improving Access

In collaboration with the Department of Neuroscience at the Southern General Hospital in Glasgow, SCTT facilitates teleneurology clinics with Lorn and Oban Hospital, Campbeltown Community Hospital  and Islay Hospital.

These clinics provide patients with access to a neurologist closer to home,  saving long journeys for specialist care. There are now 14 Teleneurology Clinics operating across Scotland.
