Digitally Savvy Citzens- Report

The Carnegie UK Trust has today published their new report, Digitally Savvy Citzens.

The report presents new data which looks at how people in England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and Ireland navigate information, security and privacy issues online.

It asks:

  • Where people seek information about breaking news, the opening hours of local services, a historical event, or ‘how to…’?
  • Whether people use passwords or passcodes on their phone?
  • How safe people feel using public wifi to perform tasks such as online banking?
  • If people share photos online or use public social media profiles?

Based on five representative surveys carried out by Ipsos MORI, the data is broken down to highlight key differences in behaviour by jurisdiction, age, gender and socio-economic status.
